The Staff Development Manager is an experienced hospice clinician that will act as a preceptor and mentor to other clinical staff. This position provides education and coaching on patient assessment, hospice patient care, and on computer documentation. As a provider of care, under a physician’s orders and in accordance with Seasons policies and procedures and state licensure and regulations, this clinician may perform patient assessment, planning, and implementation of the plan of care. This professional is able to work independently in directing patient needs by virtue of his/her experience and the competencies required for this position.
*Hospice clinician meeting the qualifications of RN Case Manager, Social Worker, Music Therapist, or Chaplain. NOTE: for sites with a census of 0-50, this position must be a Registered Nurse.
*Minimum one year of previous experience in hospice; Seasons Hospice experience preferred.
*Meet all of the responsibilities of the Hospice Clinical Job Description for the discipline.
*Advanced hospice certification within discipline required. If not certified upon assignment to this role, will achieve certification within one year of assignment to roll.
*Active member of a state or professional organization. If no membership at the time of hire, makes application within first three months in new role.
*Demonstrates competency in:
-Patient care standards required for safe delivery of services as evidenced by supervisory documentation.
-Use of computer required documentation.
-Comprehensive patient and family assessment.
-Pain & symptom management & knowledge of medications.
-Demonstrated ability at problem solving and use of resources.
-Critical thinking skills.
-Effective time Management.
-Ability to communicate clearly, teach and inspire TRUE HOPE values and related behaviors.
*Current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
*Strong communication skills, demonstrated leadership and a demonstrated understanding of use of the computer as a nursing tool at the bedside.
*Must have reliable automobile, valid driver’s license, and the minimum state required liability auto insurance.
